JLO The Boy Next Door

I am a big fan of Jennifer Lopez. There isn't any movie (other than Gigli or however you spell it) that I didn't like. Her new movie, The Boy Next Door, is very risqué for an actress. I think she's taking a huge risk, but it might pay off. It's the female role reversal of the movie The Crush. If you haven't seen The Crush don't worry about it. Just keep reading.
In this case Jennifer Lopez is the desirable older woman who, in a moment of weakness, gives in to the advances of a teenage boy. There are commenters on the movie that state it's sleazy and the fact that it's a high school boy should not have been done. I think that's hypocritical. There are countless movies and shows about a much older man finding love with a younger and sometimes underage female.
Examples of males with underage or extremely young females in shows:
Pretty Little Liars is a show where I was personally scandalized (until I kept watching and was hooked) that the teenage student was having an ongoing affair with her teacher. The entire town knew about it and became OK with it. The show Pretty Little Liars is still on the air and more popular than ever despite the risqué topic.
Friends. The show Friends had Ross dating a female that was much younger and everyone laughed. It was comical to see his attempts to date this female.
Fast forward to this JLO movie where a handsome physically developed male is desperate to have her, which leads to a wild obsession and I'm buying my ticket as soon as it's in a theater near me. That man in the previews does not look like someone who is being taken advantage of. He's a hot, strapping lad who's looking for love in all the wrong places... mainly between Jenny from the block's thighs.
The movie doesn't condone a teacher/student relationship. On the contrary, it shows the viewer the horrifying results of an inappropriate affair. There really does not appear to be any message in the movie telling the viewer it's OK to date or sleep with a student. There's a desire that turns into obsession that borders on madness. Jennifer has to protect her family and her job while keeping her secret. She is filled with deep regret, but the student involved appears unable to control his crazy devotion to be with her. My money's on Jenny. She's going to show us in this movie why she commands top dollar for her performances as an actress.
