*** See posts from U. Viveros (Aug 8th) for info on the panel display on this tv***

Picture quality on this tv is excellent (it has an IPS panel), black levels are impressive, color is vibrant. And you can tweak the picture to your likeing with a ton of various options. Took me a while to get the picture quality just right for gaming, HD content and SD content. SD tv actually looks pretty good on this tv, suprisingly sharp picture quality on it. Though this being a LCD tv the picture isn't crystal clear, in darker areas you can see some obvious blurring or trailing (but only if you really want to notice, and its not as bad as the latest Samsung), in brighter areas blurring is not noticeable at all (in Modern Warfare 2 for example darker wood textures you can see the blur when moving, on brighter wall textures there is no blur).

Speakers are decent, not going to blow you away with the sound but they aren't complete crap either. Like the picture - sound also has various tweaking options.

Remote is pretty standard, doesn't look cheap and doesn't go overboard with the options. But is has everything you'd accept to be on it.

Also has a headphone jack (and unlike Samsungs you can control the volume of the headphone jack with your remote).

You can also display pictures or play music with a usb stick, I don't think I'll be using this feature. Would've been nice if it allowed you to play videos from the usb stick...but they only have that feature on their higher end models.

One problem is that if you switch the input to hdmi and then go back to AV or TV input...there is no sound. You have the turn off the tv and turn is back again to get the sound back.

4/5.

I paid $[...], amazon now dropped the price.

LG 42LD550 LCD HDTV - Seeing is Believeing

LG 42LD550 42-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LCD HDTV

Seeing is Believeing
I am very pleased with the LG capability. It receives movies from Net Flix thru my DSL connection. It was easy to program. It also receives extra HD stations thru the basic cable service. I was previously viewing from a Sharp 32" LC-32D43U Aquos 2008 TV but was only able to receive Net Flix thru a graphics accelerator card connection from my Dell Computer by HDMI connection. I receive a lot better quality sound from this LG. Adjustments are easier to make for the picture and sound. The quality will be remembered long after the price that was paid will have been forgotton.

Enjoying TV, nice picture, great features.
TV is great for the type (LCD) and price. The picture is bright, good contrast, and very smooth. The menu/remote are very comfortable...overall the picture is very nice. Aesthetically, the TV looks great as well...no cheesy features or decorations. This is my first LG product and I'm very pleased with this set. Also added the wireless adapter ($70). The entire setup and interface are very intuitive. This is a kids TV and they had Netflix down in no time (even the 5 year old). My only wish would be a backlit remote control.

Only complaint at all is with shipping. It did not ship on time and there was no communication from the shipping company. Ultimately, I had to contact the shipper to make an appointment (was stated that they would contact me). Once I called them, they drove it over the next day (Saturday). All in all, still very pleased.

I think it's love.
I had been planning on buying a new tv for quite a while, and did as much reading and research as time would permit. I kept coming back to the LG 42LD550. What really sold me on it was the Netcast (powered by the WiFi USB dongle), super-high contrast ratio, wireless-ready, and the price. The price! Man, a tv like this would have cost several thousand dollars a few years ago.

At any rate, I've been working this set for about 2 weeks now, and I love it. The picture quality is amazing, it's very responsive, the remote is very good, and even the speakers are decent. If you spring for the wireless box, you have the option of mounting it straight on the wall with no unsightly cables hanging off of it (or being routed through the drywall). Now it makes for a beautiful centerpiece of my entertainment center, which the wife loves to show off (win-win).

The World Cup is going to look mighty nice in HD on this tv!

LG 32LD450 32" LCD HDTV - Affordable TV, Yet With a Good-Quality Picture

In this article I aim to provide useful information and objective view of the LG 32LD450 TV model. If you are interested in buying a new TV, but you don't want spend thousands on a sophisticated overpriced TVs, 32LD450 LCD HDTV from LG might be the choice.

With average price of $550, it is an affordable TV for many people, yet brings a nice, quality picture with reasonable 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 1080p full HD resolution. Good news is LG equipped this television with multiple AV modes for optimizing picture and sound, depending on what you are watching. This can be easily set using the remote control.

It is one of the positives about 32LD450, that it is really user-friendly and really easy to manage. In addition to 2 HDMI ports, there is also a USB port to connect an MP3 player to play music right from it. With 32" screensize, it does not take too much space, as LG wants to make every TV with the thinest siluette possible:) It has a "bedroom" size.

This TV can also be used as a game machine/console. One of three AV modes is "Games" (the other two are "Cinema" and "Sports". When I first tried playing games on this (I connected my PS3), I was pretty impressed by the quality and I really enjoyed it. I know it might be boring, but I still find it useful for some of you readers (I am talking about technical specifications), so I am including some of them (the most important ones):

Screen size: 32-inch class (31.5 inches diagonal), Resolution: 1920 x 1080 (1080p Full HD), Dynamic contrast ratio: 100,000:1, Viewing angle: 178 degrees horizontal/vertical, Response time: 4ms, Audio output: 20 watts (10W x 2), Speaker system: 2-way, 4 speakers, Dolby Digital decoder: Yes, Surround system: Infinite Sound, Input labeling: Yes, Swivel stand: ±20 degrees, VESA compliance: 200mm x 100mm.

So that's it, if you enjoyed this review and want to find more info about 32LD450 model, certainly the best website is 32LD450, because it includes all information that would interest you, plus you can find there the BEST price on the internet.
